NTHS' Annual Elections. Food and drink will be provided, and items will be raffled.
If you'd like to run, we encourage you to speak with the current leadership so you can decide if the job is right for you. Below is a list of general duties:
President: Organizing the yearly calendar of events, maintaining network communications (Women in Engineering, IEEE, etc.), managing the activities and committees assigned to each project or event, working closely with the officers and committee members to maintain the ethics and integrity of the society, and most importantly stepping in whenever and wherever necessary.
Hours required a week: 8-10
Vice-President: Leads the meeting when the President is unable to do so, keeps track of meeting attendance, helps manage the committees assigned to projects and events, create and manage the weekly newsletter, is in charge of making and managing changes to the By-Laws and supplemental ethics code of conduct for the society, and responsible for maintaining relationships with the membership (is the “go to” person for compliments, complaints, ideas, needs, etc.).
Hours required a week: 6-8
Secretary: Must be present for each meeting, recording the minutes, help manage the website (updating the agenda and minutes available on the site), be available to help the draft the agenda prior to the meetings when needed.
Hours required a week: 3-5
Treasurer: Monitoring the income and expenses of the NTHS Society account and work closely with the Honor’s office and Board members to keep up to date, giving monthly financial report updates at the Board Meeting, being present for every vote that will include financial decisions, and using good judgement in lending professional opinion and advice in all matters regarding the financial stability of the society.
Hours required a week: 2-4
We are doing a resume workshop to prepare for our STEM Career Expo field trip. We will work to build you a new resume, or help polish an existing one. All are welcome to attend.
This meeting will be held in MBCC 137, which is part of the Computing Center.
Our first meeting of the semester is this Friday at 12:30. As usual, we will be meeting in the Technology building, upstairs in Room 222. Pizza will be provided. We have a lot to cover, including a number of special projects, upcoming events to plan, and board positions to fill.
